In December, Saint Leo University’s Marketing Club of Virginia adopted 20 children in need through The Salvation Army’s Angel tree and stocking program. The student club, which studies marketing of nonprofit organizations, presented The Salvation Army in Virginia with an abundance of gifts from action heroes to sewing machines to bedding. Dr. James Womick, assistant professor of marketing and the club’s faculty advisor, said the experience gave students a real-world view of the challenges and nuances connected with promoting a social cause.
