Board of Trustees Update

Saint Leo University’s governing board is a group of volunteers who exemplify the university’s six core values. They all give generously of their time, talent, and treasure to enhance the education our students receive. This year, we welcome eight new members to the board. Laurie (Starratt) O’Donoghue has enjoyed a varied career in global financial markets, specializing in risk mitigation and risk transfer. She worked for global financial firms, including Citibank Global Asset Management and Murray Johnstone, as well as CommonFund, an independent nonprofit asset management firm. She recently retired from Pareto NY LLC, a subsidiary of BNY Mellon, where she had been president and chair. Pareto manages the currency translation risk of institutions with overseas investments, such as universities, foundations, and pension funds.  She has held a number of board and committee positions, most recently serving on the Archdiocese of New York’s Making All Things New parish reorganization initiative. A native Floridian, she and her husband, Jim, met while students at Saint Leo. They settled in New York and raised two sons and a daughter but now spend their winters in Vero Beach, FL.

The Saint Leo University Brand Marketing & Communications Office provides internal and external communications, as well as media outreach, for the university. The staff covers stories about alumni, university programs, student initiatives, and community projects.
